These Viral Blanket Dumplings — made two ways — broke the internet for a good reason. The concept is genius: instead of folding and pleating, you just drape a dumpling wrapper right over seasoned ground meat like a little blanket, then steam it all together in savory bone broth. The result is tender, juicy, flavor-packed dumplings with almost zero effort. And the toddler version is a total game-changer for parents who want to serve real food without the stress.
I love this recipe because it completely removes the hardest part of making dumplings — the folding. No pleating, no pinching, no technique required. You get all the cozy, savory, umami-forward flavors of a classic dumpling in a fraction of the time. The bone broth steams everything into tender, silky perfection, and the ginger-garlic-sesame filling is deeply flavorful. The toddler version is just as brilliant: mild, soft, and nourishing without any of the strong seasonings that little ones might reject.

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork or chicken, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Heat the avocado oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Scoop small portions of the meat mixture directly into the pan, spacing them slightly apart. Let cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottoms begin to brown.
Place a dumpling wrapper directly over each meat mound — draping it like a little blanket. Pour the bone broth around the dumplings, cover with a lid, and steam for 6–8 minutes until the meat is fully cooked and the wrappers are soft and tender.
Serve warm topped with toasted sesame seeds, sliced green onions, chili oil, and chopped parsley. Add extra soy sauce or chili crisp on the side.

In a small bowl, combine the ground pork or chicken with the Serenity Kids pouch until fully mixed. Heat the avocado oil in a small nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Scoop small portions of the mixture into the pan and cook for 2 minutes until lightly browned on the bottom.
Drape a dumpling wrapper over each mound, pour in the bone broth, cover, and steam for 5–6 minutes until fully cooked and soft. Allow to cool slightly before serving and cut into small toddler-friendly bites as needed.

Store leftover dumplings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a covered skillet with a small splash of water or broth to re-steam and bring them back to life. The wrappers may firm up slightly in the fridge but soften right back up with a little heat and steam. These are not ideal for freezing once cooked, but you can freeze the raw seasoned meat mixture for up to 2 months and thaw overnight before cooking.

Nope — just a nonstick skillet with a lid. No steamer basket, no special dumpling tools.
Most grocery stores carry them in the refrigerated or freezer section, often near the tofu or Asian ingredients. Asian grocery stores will have the best selection and freshness.
Yes — mix the seasoned meat and store it covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours before cooking.
