What do you think of when you think of Tequila? For me, I have always thought of Don Julio Blanco, as it has always been my tequila drink of choice. I recently went to a Don Julio Event in Toronto and fell in love with the Don Julio infused cocktails. The drinks were made made with Don Julio Blanco (referred to as the ‘silver’ tequila), which I particularly enjoyed. The crisp agave flavour and hints of citrus in the Don Julio Tequila made for an essential component in the innovative drinks that were served! Not to mention, Don Julio products are also perfect to pair with food due to the nature of their ingredients and the flavour undertones that exist in Don Julio variants (e.g. lemon, lime and grapefruit in Blanco)! Don Julio Jalisco Express

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. Don Julio Blanco Tequila
  • 1.5 oz. Trinidad Pepper, Lime and Black Pepper Cordial
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Cucumber Juice
  •  0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1.5 oz. Soda
  • Mint and Cucumber for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except for soda in a cocktail shaker, shake for 30 seconds and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
  2. Top with soda.
  3. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon and fresh mint tip.

Don Julio Prized Pomelo Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Don Julio Blanco
  • 1.5 oz. Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.25 oz. Blue Agave Nectar (1:1 mixture)
  • 4.5 oz. Original Kombucha
  • 1 Pinch Sea Salt
  • 12 oz. Highball Glass
  • 1 Grapefruit Zest (1 inch long, 0.5 inches wide)

Directions:

  1. Mix the fresh grapefruit and lime juices with the blue agave nectar in a shaker with ice.
  2. Add Don Julio Blanco and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. Pour the mix in a highball glass filled with ice cubes.
  4. Add the kombucha and squeeze a peel of grapefruit to spread the zent on the rim and cocktail.
