Apple Celebrates the Best Apps and Games of 2019

It’s no secret that everything I do is on my iPhone! From shooting to editing to posting, my Apple iPhone has become my better half. Apple’s iPhone is one of the most popular smartphones in the world, and as a long-time user it’s easy to see why. From the stellar physical aspects of the phone to the software of having millions of apps available in the Apple App Store, everything we need is right at our fingertips.

Tonight, I had the chance to attend a very special Apple event, which features the Best Apps of 2019. I was very excited to have the opportunity to attend this event, as I rely on many apps for both personal and business use. Apps help simplify our lives and allow us to express ourselves whether it’s through creativity, connecting with friends and family or simply just having fun.

This year, there were two trends that encompassed the Best Apps of 2019. One highlighting the app trend of Storytelling Simplified and the other is the Game Trend of 2019, Blockbusters Reimagined. To choose the Best Apps of 2019, app store editors from around the globe combed through new releases to find the most beautiful, culturally interesting, and fun apps and games.

As a content creator, storytelling is what I embody through Everything Delish. Whether it is to share an experience, event or story via photo or video, this is only possible because of the apps that I use on my Apple devices. With work comes play, and a little fun-fact about me is that in my spare time I am addicted to playing Candy Crush! However, after tonight I cannot wait to replace my current Candy Crush obsession with the diverse group of games that landed as the 2019 App Store Winners.

Best Apps of 2019

iPhone App of the Year: Spectre Camera (Lux Optics)

This AI-powered app leverages a dizzying amount of tech to let anyone take stunning long-exposure photos. Tonight, I had the chance to try the iPhone App of the Year and it magically captured the beauty of motion, as you can see in the photo where the developer wrote out “Delish” behind me!

iPad App of the Year: Flow by Moleskine (Moleskine)

I was blown away by the Moleskin app, as I watched talented illustrators draw and sketch in this elegant digital notebook app. I was lucky enough to have one of the talented illustrators draw me on the iPad Pro with graphite pencils, chisel-tipped markers to mimic the real image. It was amazing to see how the app took the elegance of the iconic Moleskine notebook and turned it into digital form.

Mac App of the Year: Affinity Publisher (Serif Labs)

With its elegant user experience and remarkably reasonable price point, Affinity Publisher makes pro-level design accessible to everyone, whether you’re creating a photo-rich coffee table book or a flyer for your second grader’s play. The powerful and affordable app actually created the pamphlets for tonight’s event with all of the Best of 2019 winners!

Apple TV App of the Year: The Explorers (The Explorers Network)

This groundbreaking app was designed to support the community of explorers, scientists and artists working toward a common goal: To create a comprehensive “visual inventory” of the natural world through photo and video. This app allows you to feel as if you are touring the planet and has created an online community of over 50k users in just 3 weeks time!

App Trend of 2019: Storytelling Simplified

As mentioned earlier, Storytelling is a huge part of Everything Delish and I really connected with this trend and the apps on a personal level! Certain apps that were featured included, Anchor (Anchor FM), Unfold (Unfold Creative); which I use all the time to create IG Stories and posts, Steller (Expedition Travel Advisor), Over (Over, Inc) and Toronto’s very own, Wattpad (Wattpad Corp), which allows users to express themselves through moving podcasts, one-of-a-kind novels, and true-to-life photo collages in an easier way than ever before.
